Burnley has had a market of one description or another for over 700 years and we built on this heritage to develop a modern brand for the existing market hall.
The identity was designed to reflect the iconic structure in the centre of the town. We decided to keep it simple with the intention to allow the products to be the focus of the brand.
Strong bold designs for adverts and materials were produced to be eye catching for a younger audience without alienating the current clientele.
The product focus was continued through the website design, with a dominant header image/video. We provided photography of the products and stallholders to show the personalities of the traders and the personal approach to shopping in the market.
A set of icons were produced for each type of stall within the markets, this was to give a clear structure to the website.
Creative Council have been invaluable in creating and refining our brand both online and offline. Their work always manages to exceed our expectations both in presentation and in the level of professionalism and enthusiasm that they bring to a project.
We produced a spooky advert with fake news stories, complete with newspaper style cartoon, that appeared in the Burnley Express to promote the market during the run up to Halloween. The diversity of stalls gave us plenty of scope for spooky goings on, and it’s definitely the best place for fancy dress and treats.
